Targeting Clostridioides difficile Infection-Induced Inflammation to Improve Treatment Outcome

چکیده
Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) is a worldwide concern. The increase in cases numbers and disease severity mortality combined with the scarcity of effective antibiotics warrant intensive research for alternative strategies to combat this disease. Although CDI inflammatory nature, antiinflammatory agents are not recommended management symptoms. Further, some drugs considered predisposing factors severe poor prognosis. On other hand, several studies have demonstrated benefit curbing inflammation both humans experimental animals. Since multifactorial that depends on host immunity, gut microbiota bacterial virulence, thorough investigation required assess value using treatment infection. current article highlights conflicting evidence during calls in-depth evaluate their use controlling CDI.

Clostridioides difficile Biology: Sporulation, Germination, and Corresponding Therapies for C. difficile Infection
Clostridioides difficile is a Gram-positive, spore-forming, toxin-producing anaerobe, and an important nosocomial pathogen. Due to the strictly anaerobic nature of the vegetative form, spores are the main morphotype of infection and transmission of the disease. Spore formation and their subsequent germination play critical roles in C. difficile infection (CDI) progress. Under suitable condition...
متن کاملGut bacterial communities of diarrheic patients with indications of Clostridioides difficile infection
We present bacterial 16S rRNA gene datasets derived from stool samples of 44 patients with diarrhea indicative of a Clostridioides difficile infection. For 20 of these patients, C. difficile infection was confirmed by clinical evidence. Stool samples from patients originating from Germany, Ghana, and Indonesia were taken and subjected to DNA isolation. DNA isolations of stool samples from 35 as...
متن کاملTopological Data Analysis of Clostridioides difficile Infection and Fecal Microbiota Transplantation
Computational topologists recently developed a method, called persistent homology to analyze data presented in terms of similarity or dissimilarity. Indeed, persistent homology studies the evolution of topological features in terms of a single index, and is able to capture higher order features beyond the usual clustering techniques. There are three descriptive statistics of persistent homology...

In fact, one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in surgical patients is perioperative orga...
متن کاملTreatment of Clostridium difficile infection.
Recent outbreaks of Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) in North America have been due to a more virulent, possibly more resistant strain that causes more-severe disease, making prompt recognition of cases and optimal management of infection essential for a successful therapeutic outcome. Treatment algorithms are presented to help guide the management of patients with CDI. Metronidazole has b...
